To all London FBU branches Watch MPs expose Mordaunt's lies in the Commons debate Further to our previous communication which reported on the unravelling of the fire minister’s ‘guarantee’ that firefighters over the age of 55 would receive an unreduced pension if they fail a fitness test, a number of MPs took the opportunity to press the minister during DCLG questions in the House of Commons today. During the discussion, and despite the bluster and waffle of the minister, it became blindingly apparent that her ‘guarantee’ is utterly worthless. The discussion was witnessed by a number of firefighters in the public gallery. Members may view the debate by clicking on the link below. It begins at 42 minutes 25 seconds. Please note that questions on firefighters’ pensions pop up randomly during the session, so it is worth watching right to the end. To assist viewing, we have provided a timeline.
