As you are aware the LFB has recently changed the policy on attending shut in lifts. The Brigade now attends at road speed for non – emergencies and does not attend if an engineer has been called.
The FBU was not consulted on this change and opposes it on the grounds that it is ill thought out and dangerous.
It has also had media interest with the Chair of the Authority, Brian Coleman, appearing on local television defending the Brigades policy.
