Union Learning Reps Course
If you would like to join the other 24,000 union members in the U.K. who are now trained Union Learning Reps (ULR) this course is for you.
A ULR can;
- Help to promote a learning culture in your workplace
- Improve the skills and employability of their members
- Unlock potential for individuals and help career progression
- Increase participation in workplace learning
- Provide support and guidance for members
- Helping members overcome barriers to learning
- Work closely with outside organisations, i.e. Colleges
- Utilise government funded schemes
- Develop your own skills
LFEPA, FBU, Unison and GMB have recently signed a Learning Agreement which fully supports the role of a ULR within the organisation. This agreement has also led to the setting up of a joint Learning Forum where all areas of workplace learning can be discussed and progressed. The key to all of the above is having active, trained ULR’s on each of our workplaces.
Once the FBU have appointed a ULR on a branch they need to attend a 5 day training course provided free through the T.U.C.
A ULR course is being delivered jointly with the PCS trade union at their Learning Centre in Victoria (5 mins walk from Victoria rail station) on the following dates;
September 28th, 29th, 30th, October 20th and 21st
Further ULR 5 day courses are planned to take place at the following venues;
