Essex Dispute

You will be aware that Essex members have been taking industrial action short of strike - consisting of an overtime ban and a refusal to act up - for more than 3 months against the IRMP cuts package and other imposed changes.

On Monday 7th December, an additional ban on any new secondary contracts or agreements will begin. Also, the Essex Brigade Committee will be meeting on Moday 7th December to discuss continuing dispute strategies.

On Wednesday 9th December Essex FBU Members will be lobbying a meeting of the Essex FRA to show our continued opposition to the cuts in frontline firefighters and the imposition of a growing range of unagreed policies and procedures affecting watch strengths, leave, transfers, crewing etc.

Whilst the Essex members remain determined you can imagine that any messages of support would boost morale. Please send any messages of support to:
